SOCIETY NEEDS RELIABLE LAW...
Only 16% of Americans Trust the Legal System
Americans today are nervous doing pretty much anything – because they no longer trust our system of justice to protect them.
- Businesses no longer give references.
- Municipalities cancel fireworks displays and parades.
- Playgrounds are stripped of swings and seesaws.
- Swimming pools and hiking trails are closed.
In the area of youth recreation and play, we are working to reverse the effects of legal fear and society’s increasing aversion to risk on recreational opportunities for America's children and the resulting impact on their physical, mental, and social health.
Why Reasonable Risk Benefits Society:

Common Good Chair Philip Howard spoke to the Kauffman Foundation on the excessively detailed laws and rigid government regulations that leave no room for judgment or discretion. Without reform of America's legal and regulatory system, we will lose the freedom to take reasonable risks.
