‘Health Courts’ Touted as Malpractice Claim Option Mark A. Hofmann

system proposed in the Medical Liability Procedural Reform Act of 2005.
Health courts would entail having judges with medical expertise issue opinions
and a set schedule of benefits for noneconomic awards. According to Common Good
founder and chair Philip K. Howard, health courts have the potential to fix the
