Special Courts for Medical Lawsuits Could Ease the Malpractice Crisis Dan F. Kopen The Citizen’s Voice, August 8, 2005
In his opinion piece, Doctor Dan F. Kopen recommends a “paradigm
shift” in the tort system. According to Kopen, Common Good is “spearheading”
the health courts movement and extending the American tradition of “respecting
and utilizing the concept of courts with specialized expertise to handle areas
of specialized legal concerns.” Without specialized health courts, Kopen
believes “the public will continue to be deprived of the benefits of optimized
safety enhancement and fair and just compensation.”
