Food Safety RegulationsSchools must comply with food safety guidelines in connection with the Living for the Young Family through Education Program (LYFE), including the USDA requirements. These regulations include an HACCP system of process controls to prevent food safety hazards. The Office of School Food and Nutrition Services has developed and incorporated a seven step process in accordance with the USDA's HACCP guidelines.
