The Wake-Up Call – For a New Operating System of Government: A Virtual Forum on September 23

WHAT: The bipartisan Campaign for Common Good will hold a Zoom forum on Wednesday, September 23, to explore the need for a new operating system of government. The forum will highlight The Wake-Up Call, a new book by John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge, which argues that the operating system of American government is no longer able to make the choices needed to govern effectively, regardless of who is president. It "has been crumbling for decades, overloaded with obligations, undersupplied with talent, and picked apart by special interests." Joining them in a discussion moderated by Megan McArdle will be Philip Howard, Chair of the Campaign for Common Good, which proposes a new governing vision: replace red tape with individual accountability.
